Elm Tree Class Blog 15/03/24

Hi everybody!

It’s been a really busy week in Elm Tree Class this week.  On Wednesday, we were celebrating British Science Week at Pear Tree School.  Elm Tree Class were carrying out investigations where we had to predict what would happen and then observe the results.

We really liked the film canister rockets, although ours didn’t work as well as the test because we didn’t get them seal properly, we kept trying and they worked in the end.

The Alka-Seltzer lava lamps were a great hit, we watched the bubble rise up through the oil and then fall back down again.

We also looked at acids and alkalis by using red cabbage indicator dye to test different liquids in class.  We were surprised to see the purple water turn pink and red in an acidic liquid and turn blue in an alkali liquid.
