Bay Tree: A Burst of Colour and Learning
Date: 24th Apr 2025 @ 12:46pm
What a vibrant week it's been in Bay Tree Class! Our little explorers have been busy delving into the wonders of the United Kingdom in Geography. Forget dusty textbooks – we brought the maps to life with a truly explosive (and colourful) activity.
Imagine the delight as the children popped balloons filled with paint, splattering red, white, and blue across paper to create their very own interpretations of the Union Jack. We even had a listen to the national anthem, a moment of quiet reflection amidst the colourful chaos.
The fun didn't stop there! Our messy afternoon tea was a resounding success, filled with giggles, sticky fingers, and plenty of imaginative play. It's amazing how much learning can happen over pretend sandwiches and overflowing teacups!
Turning the page to Literacy, we've embarked on a new adventure with a fascinating character – the Colour Monster. This engaging story is helping us explore different emotions and find colourful ways to express them. The children are already captivated by the monster's transformations, and we can't wait to see where our reading journey takes us.
Meanwhile, in Maths, our focus has been firmly on strengthening our number work. From counting games to problem-solving, the children have been demonstrating great enthusiasm and growing confidence with numbers.
Looking ahead, this week promises to be just as exciting as we gear up for our Inspiration Day, centered around health and wellbeing. It's so important to nurture both our minds and bodies, and we have some fantastic activities planned.
Finally, a special mention to our budding chefs in Bay Tree Class! They've been busy in the kitchen putting a healthy twist on a classic ice lolly for the Great Pear Tree Bake Off. All we can say is they look FAB.
It's been a week filled with exploration, creativity, and a whole lot of fun in Bay Tree Class. We can't wait to see what next week brings!
