Seedlings: A Tasty Tale - The Gingerbread Man

This week in Seedlings we have been focusing on reading, with all of our activities centred around the story of The Gingerbread Man. The children have engaged really well and explored the story in a range of meaningful, sensory ways.

We have shared the book together throughout the week, looking at the characters, repeating the familiar phrases and joining in with the rhythm of the story. Alongside this, the children explored themed sensory trays filled with textures linked to the story, giving them the chance to feel, scoop, pour and investigate while building their understanding of the narrative.

We also enjoyed a sensory story version of The Gingerbread Man, using props, smells and movement to bring each part of the tale to life. This helped the children stay engaged and supported their comprehension through hands‑on experience.

It has been a lovely week of reading, exploring and storytelling in Seedlings.
