Elm Tree Class: A week filled with Music, Maths and Rugby!
Date: 22nd May 2025 @ 3:51pm
Hello everyone!
We hope you’ve all had a fantastic week and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine.
We are incredibly proud of all the students in Elm Tree this week — what a brilliant way to end the half term!
Our performance at the Ribby Hall Music Festival was a huge success! All the hard work and rehearsals paid off, and we couldn’t be prouder of each and every student. We performed songs from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and, most importantly, had a wonderful time.
Wednesday was our exciting Maths is Fun day! We welcomed visitors from other schools and enjoyed making new friends. The hall and adventure playground were filled with fun numeracy activities — from measuring how far we could jump, to chopping fruit into fractions, and weighing objects to find the lightest and heaviest. We earned tokens for each activity and even got to relax with juice and a biscuit in the sunshine.
On Thursday, a group of students took part in a tag rugby tournament at Fylde Rugby Club. Over the past 10 weeks, we’ve been training with coaches Alex and Drew, learning new skills and building confidence. The tournament was a fantastic opportunity to put those skills into action. We played against other schools, received medals, and even joined mixed teams for some fun games at the end. The teamwork, sportsmanship, and behaviour shown by our students were outstanding — we were so proud to see them shaking hands with their opponents after every match.
It’s been a week full of achievements, laughter, and learning. We’re so pleased to end the half term on such a high note.
Wishing you all a safe, happy, and restful break.
With love from,
The Elm Tree Team
