Seedlings Class: Autumn senses and seasonal fun
Date: 16th Oct 2025 @ 3:43pm
This week our Seedlings have been busy exploring autumn and Halloween through lots of sensory play which has been helping them build confidence, communication, and curiosity.
We painted using apple halves, which encouraged hand strength and coordination while introducing the colours, and textures of the season. Our falling leaves song was a big hit! The children used tissue paper and felt the breeze from a hairdryer, helping them connect sound, movement, and touch in a playful way.
We’ve also been smelling cinnamon, feeling the bumpy textures of pumpkins, and exploring sensory trays filled with oats and Halloween decorations. These activities help children make sense of the world around them, develop language, and enjoy shared experiences with their peers.
It’s been a week full of discovery, smiles, and seasonal fun, through all the senses!
