Bay Tree: Chinese New Year
Date: 12th Feb 2026 @ 4:07pm
This week in Bay Tree, we have been celebrating Chinese New Year and what a wonderful celebration it has been.
We have been taking part in a range of sensory and creative activities linked to the festival. As dragons are an important symbol in Chinese culture we created our own using bright paint, felts and glitter, they turned out amazingly.
Our Attention Autism was also linked to the festival. The children watched as red, yellow and black tissue paper flew around our classroom representing a flying dragon.
Of course no celebration would be complete without tasting some traditional foods. The children were brave and curious as they explored new flavours and textures. We tried prawn crackers, fortune cookies and noodles. Some enjoyed the crunchy texture of the prawn crackers, while others were intrigued by the sweet taste and hidden paper in the fortune cookie.
What a fun week to end the half term!
