Bay Tree Class: Exploring Algorithms

This week in our computing lessons, we’ve been diving into the world of algorithms, a big word that simply means a set of instructions to complete a task.

To make learning fun and practical, we explored algorithms in two exciting ways. We learned how to break down the steps needed to make a delicious slice of jam on toast. From getting the bread, putting it in the toaster, adding jam and finally enjoying our snack, we discovered how important it is to follow instructions in the right order. Next, we applied our algorithm skills to movement. We created and followed step-by-step instructions to complete an obstacle course. This helped us understand sequencing and problem-solving, while having lots of fun.

In Attention Autism, we continued our theme of following instructions by creating something magical... a rainbow! Step by step, we layered colors to make a bright and beautiful rainbow. This activity was not only visually exciting but also helped us practice listening, focusing, and working together.
