Bay Tree: Exploring Materials through Festive Creativity
Date: 5th Dec 2025 @ 8:51am
This week in Bay Tree we have been focusing on our DT targets.
We have been exploring with different textures and mouldable materials in a fun way.
First, we got messy with our hands and feet. We created our festive bags where we made snowmen, reindeers, and even Santa with paint, squishing it in our hands and feet.
Next, we explored more squishy textures, where we made, rolled, and cut out different festive shapes of salt dough. The best part was bringing them to life with paint and glitter... we can't wait for you to see the finished look.
We also made our own magical reindeer food, where we explored with more textures, mixing porridge and glitter together. In our attention autism sessions, we cut up bright blue tissue and turned our classroom into a lovely snow globe. It was a visual spectacle and all the children enjoyed it.
We hope you enjoy our festive bags when it arrives home at the end of term.
