Bay Tree: Exploring R.E through our senses
Date: 26th Mar 2026 @ 1:35pm
This week in Bay Tree, we have been exploring Religious Education in a wonderfully sensory and creative way.
One of our favourite activities has been tasting and smelling a variety of special foods. The children explored the sweet and spicy flavours of hot cross buns, linking them to Easter traditions. We also investigated fresh mint leaves, sticky dates, juicy lychee, and fragrant cinnamon.
The children decorated beautiful crosses using colourful cellophane paper. Watching the light shine through the bright colours created a calm and reflective atmosphere.
We also explored the idea of creation and wonder by making our own galaxies using paint, glitter and sequins. The children loved mixing colours, swirling patterns, and creating their own versions of space.
To celebrate the joy of Easter, we got crafty making bunnies and decorating Easter eggs. These activities supported fine motor skills while also helping children understand themes of new life, celebration, and joy.
Well done Bay Tree, amazing work!
