What a vibrant week it's been in Bay Tree Class! We've been diving deep into emotions and creativity, all thanks to our fantastic new Attention Autism sessions linked to the much-loved story, The Colour Monster.

 

The children have absolutely adored "The Colour Monster" this half term, and it's been wonderful to see them learn so much new language around emotions and colours. This week, our Attention Autism session brought the story to life in such a fun way – we got to decorate our monsters by popping balloons all over them! There were so many giggles and delighted faces as the balloons burst, adding a wonderful splash of colour to our monster friends.

 

Our afternoons in Bay Tree have been all about focusing on our individualised education plan (IEP) targets. It's incredible to see the progress the children are making! We've been working on essential social skills like playing alongside each other and learning to take turns, which are so important for building friendships and cooperation. Plus, we've been really honing those concentration skills, helping the children stay engaged and focused during activities.

 

We had a fantastic time contributing to the school's "Maths is Fun Day" celebrations this week! Our Bay Tree stall was all about exploring shape and pattern, and the children really shone. Our activities included painting fruit to create different patterns – who knew maths could be so delicious and colourful? We also had a lot of fun finding different shapes in our sensory trays, encouraging tactile exploration while learning.

It's been a week packed with learning, laughter, and lots of colourful moments in Bay Tree! We're so proud of all the children's hard work and enthusiasm.
