Bay Tree: Sensory Stories
Date: 11th Sep 2025 @ 3:35pm
This week in literacy, we’ve been diving into our wonderful sensory story “The Colour Monster", using a variety of sensory resources to bring each coloured monsters emotions to life.
In our phonics sessions the pupils have been going on a magical journey through the different scenes of “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt”, using sensory props to deepen their understanding and engage all their senses. Pom poms for the swishy swashy grass, we used soft pom poms to feel and move through the long, wavy grass. Rainmakers for the river to represent the deep, cold river, using rainmakers to create the soothing sound of water. Drums for the bear as we reached the cave, we used drums to represent the heavy footsteps and heartbeats of the bear!
What an amazing first full week back BayTree.
