Bay Tree Class: We're Bursting with Pride (and Healthy Treats!)
Date: 1st May 2025 @ 3:36pm
Hi everyone,
Remember last week we were bubbling with excitement about our entry into the Great Pear Tree Bake Off? Well, get ready for some fantastic news... WE WON! 🎉 Our healthy snack creation was awarded the prize for the "Best Looking Healthy Snack!"
The celebrations didn't stop there! We also had a brilliant time during our Inspiration Day activities in the hall. It was wonderful to see everyone so engaged and enjoying all the different things on offer. And guess what? Our behaviour was absolutely fantastic! A big well done to all our superstars. ✨
Now, we've jumped into a brand new week with lots of exciting learning ahead. This week, we've started our PSD (Personal and Social Development) work, and we're focussing on building our independence skills. It's all about learning to do things for ourselves!
We've been following visual instructions to complete different tasks, which is a super way to help us understand and follow steps. We've linked this to our Creative Curriculum theme of health and wellbeing in some really fun ways. We've been busy in the kitchen making a healthy cake (yum!) and getting creative with taste-safe playdough and sensory paints made from fruits and vegetables. Imagine painting with vibrant beetroot or squishy blueberries – so much fun! 🎨
Our Attention Autism sessions have also been a hit this week, all thanks to the classic nursery rhyme, "Five Currant Buns." We had a blast taking turns to splat the currant buns one by one. It's such a great way to work on our focus and turn-taking skills, and it's always filled with giggles! 😄
It's been another wonderful week filled with achievements, learning, and lots of smiles. We can't wait to see what next week brings!
