Elm Tree: Cavaliers and Roundheads

Hi everyone, 

We have all had a fantastic week in Elm Tree Class. We have been very busy but had lots of fun along the way.

This half term our History topic has been all about exploring the past. We have been looking at a range of old and new items, talking about how we can tell which items are from the past and which are more modern. The children have enjoyed sorting the objects into different categories and thinking about how things have changed over time.

As an introduction to our new topic the Cavaliers and Roundheads, we have been developing our understanding of what history actually means and learning that history is things that have happened in the past. We have started to explore the idea people, clothes, homes and objects from the past can look very different to the things we see today. 

It has been wonderful to see the children getting involved, sharing their ideas and developing an understanding of through their practical activities.
