This week in Seedlings, we focused on the story Brilliant Bodies, helping the children develop a greater awareness of their body parts and what they can do. Through a range of fun and engaging activities, the children explored using their mouths to blow bubbles, their noses to smell different things, their hands to clap, their feet to stamp, and their eyes to look at lights and objects around them.
The children also enjoyed a variety of sensory mark-making experiences using food, sand, water, and paints. They explored making marks with brushes, stamps, and different materials, encouraging creativity and sensory exploration. Our body parts rhymes were a particular favourite, with lots of enthusiastic participation and movement. Alongside this, the children took part in focused teaching activities and continued to build their communication, attention, and learning skills through play and exploration.
It has been a wonderful week of discovering our brilliant bodies and all the amazing things they can do.
