Elm Tree: Diwali 🎇

Date: 8th Oct 2026 @ 3:12pm

Hello Everyone,

We hope everyone had a great weekend and made the most of the lovely weather!

This week in Elm Tree, we have been learning about the festival of Diwali. We began by exploring the colourful fireworks often displayed during Diwali celebrations, creating our own firework-inspired artwork by spreading paint across the page.🎇

We have developed an understanding of what Diwali is and who celebrates this special festival.

As part of our learning, we used our senses to explore a variety of different spices, discussing the smells and sharing our thoughts about them. 🥣

We also enjoyed making our own salt dough, which we carefully shaped into beautiful tea light holders. 🕯️

It has been a wonderful week of creativity, discovery and hands-on learning.💫

We hope you all have a fantastic weekend! 😊

Lots of love , Elm Tree Class 🌳😊
