Welcome back to the Elm Tree Class blog.
As ever, it's been a busy week and everyone has been working their socks off.
We have started learning about Judaism and Christianity in RE linked to the topic of “Where can we find guidance on how to live our lives?”
This week we have had an introduction to Christianity and Judaism by learning about places of worship. We looked at photographs and watched videos of the inside of a synagogue and a church as well as learning about the holy symbols of the cross and Star of David. We enjoyed learning about traditional clothing and we tried on a kippah and tallit.
In science we have been exploring how magnets interact with each other and they can repel and attract. We were interested to see that magnets attracted some materials and not others and this is something we will investigate further.
We are learning about World War 1 in history by reading a story called Stubby about a brave dog that joined an American regiment and survived the war. We also made poppies out of different tactile materials.
That’s all for now,
Have a great weekend!
