Elm Tree Class: Computing and Algorithms
Date: 12th Dec 2025 @ 3:23pm
Hi Everybody!
This half term Elm Tree Class have been learning about algorithms in computing. We have found out that they are a series of instructions that technology all around us uses so they can function correctly. With this in mind we have been creating algorithms for a range of ICT in class this week. We do like using the BeeBots and some pupils have been giving each other instructions to move them around a map to different locations with adult help.
Some pupils have been tinkering with the Dash robot and programming him to follow a specific path on the classroom floor.
We have also used the Osmo coding kit to give a character called Awby instructions to move around a course, collect fruit, pies and open treasure chests.
Some pupils have been working on refining their switch skills on the computer to songs and animations on the HelpKidzLearn website.
That’s all for now.
See you later and have a great weekend!
Elm Tree Class.
