Elm Tree: Learning About Emergency Help

Hi Everybody!

Welcome to the Elm Tree Class Blog. This week, we would like to share what we have been learning about in PSD this half term. Our topic has been First Aid, and we have spent a lot of time learning about why people want to help each other and why that is a good thing.

We have also been learning about making emergency phone calls to 999 and who would help us in the event of an emergency. We were told that it is very important to only call this number if it is a real emergency and never to prank call 999.

This week, we have been role-playing as first aiders, using a first aid kit to help each other. Pupils pretended to have minor injuries, and the first aiders had to choose which resources to use to help them and decide whether 999 should be called for a paramedic and ambulance. All of the pupils really enjoyed this session and were keen to help each other.
