Welcome back to the Elm Tree Class blog.  This week the blog focus will be on the artists we are learning about in art.  They are Sir Frank Bowling and Georgia O'Keeffe, both are exciting and talented artisits that used colour ina mazing and different ways.  Bowling was more abstract in his use of colour and was known to splash his paint, O'Keeffe was famous for painting flowers in vibrant colours.

Over the course of the half term we will be creating our own version of their artwork in our own particular style exploring the use of colour and how different colours make us feel.

This week we were discussing our favourite colours and how we feel when we see them.  the pupils made a collage in their sketch books to explore textures and shapes of different materials.  Some pupils commented that their favourite colours made them feel calm or happy.
