Elm Tree: PSD-Advertising and the Power of Media

Hi Everybody!

This half term Elm Tree Class have been learning about advertising and the power of the media in citizenship.  We have found out all about adverts and why they have bright, fun colours and why people in them always seem to be smiling!

This week a group of pupils created an ad campaign for a company of their choosing and created a bright, colourful advert for it using exciting and engaging language to entice people to buy the product.

Some pupils were taking part in communication and Intensive Interaction activities linked to favourite songs, objects and TV shows.  They had to ask for more if they liked the interaction and wanted it to continue.

Some pupils were deciding if a selection of photographs were adverts for companies or just pictures of food.  It did get quite tricky sometimes because there were lots of people smiling and having fun in the pictures.

Finally, we played a game where we had to name the company looking at the logo, the pupils loved trying to guess what the company was.
