Elm Tree Class Blog: World of Work Week

Hi Everybody!
This week Elm Tree Class have been taking part in the World of Work Week alongside Oak Tree Class, 6th Form and Compass Centre. Each day we have been taking part in fun activities linked to different vocations and careers.
We made tissue flowers and Lynne came in to help us make Christmas table decorations linked to floristry. We really enjoyed these activities, especially the table decorations as we were trying to make them look as festive as possible.
Then we had a visit from people from the Job Centre to talk about all the different sorts of jobs there are. We had to match jobs to their descriptions and play job bingo which was great fun. In the afternoon, we baked buns when learning about catering.
we have role-played as vets, doctors and paramedics to diagnose and cure animals that had injured themselves and our friends who were feeling poorly.
Over all, it’s been a very successful week. We have tried lots of new things and we can’t wait World of Work Week next year!
