Hi everybody!
Welcome to the Elm Tree Class Blog. This week, we would like to share what we have been learning about in computing this week.
It’s been MADD week at Pear Tree School this week and that means lots of music, art, dance and drama in Elm Tree Class. The theme for the week has been the Americas linked to The World Cup and we were learning about Austin Texas and its artists.
We have made musical instruments and jammed along to famous Austin musicians like Willie Nelson and Janis Joplin. We made a large tactile Texas flag using lots of different collage materials.
We discovered a sculptor called Bob Wade who created huge sculptures. Our favourite was a giant saxophone called Smokesax, Iggy a 12m long iguana and The World’s Largest cowboy boots that were 12m tall! We used salt dough or aluminium foil to make our sculptures.
We also loved the music session delivered by John Morrow and the line dancing lead by Laura. Who doesn’t love a bit of Cotton Eye Joe?!
That’s all for now,
See you next week!
