Huff, puff and explore in seedlings!

What a lovely start we’ve had to the new year in Seedlings. The children have settled back in so happily, slipping into their routines and rediscovering their favourite activities.

Our story focus has been The Three Little Pigs, and it has sparked so much curiosity and imaginative play. The children have enjoyed exploring sensory trays filled with straw, sticks, blocks and all sorts of messy textures, giving them plenty of chances to feel, scoop, pour and investigate. They’ve also been brilliant little builders, creating brick houses with LEGO, making their own straw houses by sticking real straw onto card, and experimenting with sticks and blocks to build just like the pigs in the story.

We also had great fun exploring sinking and floating. The children loved testing straw, sticks and blocks in the water and watching what happened.

It’s been a joyful, hands‑on start to the term, and we’re so proud of how confidently the Seedlings have returned.
