Maple Tree class: Exciting Electricity
Date: 8th Oct 2026 @ 3:35pm
We have had yet another amazing week. We especially loved seeing our families come in to our class on Monday - what a treat to show off what super star learners we are!
On Monday, we had a fun filled afternoon of activities relating to our creative curriculum “exciting bodies”! We explored how amazing our bodies are through a range of engaging, multi sensory learning stations. We particularly enjoyed exploring our sensory tray. We think our sense of taste may be our favourite! We also explored a porridge oats tray, where we used our pincer fingers to carefully search for and discover hidden bear body parts, helping to develop our fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. We also enjoyed showing our parents the skeleton outlines of our hands that we made. Can you spot the sneaky x-ray outline of a certain pig hiding amongst them?
We have also been continuing on with exploring the exciting world of electricity this week. We carried on with our focus of cause and effect during our target work. We are getting better at independently operating switch toys and investigating what happens when we change or remove components from simple electrical circuits. We have use various forms of communication to share our findings and have gained a greater understanding that electrical components can work together to make exciting things happen.
It has been a fantastic week of hands-on scientific discovery in Maple Tree Class. We can’t wait to see you again next week!
