Maple Tree Class: Fabulous First Aid

This week in Maple Tree Class we have been learning all about basic first aid, physical fitness and keeping ourselves healthy as part of our PSD lessons.

During our Attention Autism session, we met a poorly dinosaur who needed our help! The children were encouraged to become little first aid helpers by using plasters and bandages to look after our poorly dinosaur. Through this fun, hands-on activity, we explored what first aid is, when we might need it and how we can help someone who is hurt. We also began to develop our understanding of basic first aid equipment and how it is used.

The children had lots of opportunities to practise their new skills through imaginative role play, caring for both toys and their friends. These activities supported communication, social interaction, turn-taking and learning how to care for others.
