Maple Tree: Creative Characters
Date: 22nd Oct 2026 @ 3:27pm
This half term in Maple Tree Class, we have been following our Talk for Writing curriculum to get creative with the familiar story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears!
The children have had great fun changing different characters, objects and foods to create their own versions of the traditional tale. Goldilocks and the Three Bears have been joined by other animals, including frogs, rabbits and pigs! We have also explored what else our characters could sit on, such as beanbags, sofas and stools, and thought about different foods to replace the traditional porridge, including pasta, rice and soup.
Through these activities, the children have been encouraged to make choices, share their ideas and explore new vocabulary while developing their listening, attention, communication and early literacy skills. By revisiting the story and experimenting with familiar language, the children have been building their confidence and understanding of how stories can be changed and adapted to create something new.
It has been wonderful to see everyone's creativity and enthusiasm as we have brought our own unique versions of Goldilocks and the Three Bears to life!
We hope everyone has a lovely, restful half-term break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for more exciting learning and adventures in Maple Tree Class!
