Mark Making Magic: A Week of Sensory Exploration and Skill Building

This week in seedlings, we embraced the mess and got stuck into mark making. Children explored a range of sensory materials including sand trays, shaving foam, paint, the interactive whiteboard, custard, and even used water guns to make marks outdoors.

We introduced tools like stamps, paint brushes, big wheels, cars, and balls to vary the experience and encourage different types of movement. These activities helped develop fine and gross motor skills, early writing awareness, and creative expression. 

The children were happy, enthusiastic and engaged with this weeks activities, showing keen interest and a range of marks. Overall, It’s been a brilliant week of hands-on learning, and we’ll keep building on these early writing foundations in the weeks ahead.
