Numeracy in the Compass Centre

This week in numeracy, we have been continuing to develop our understanding of measurement by measuring the length of different items using both standard and non‑standard units. The Class One pupils have been developing their ICT skills to accurately measure items on screen. They then put their knowledge into practice by using a ruler to measure different objects around the classroom, ensuring they started at zero and read the correct number.

Pupils in Classroom Two and the common room have been measuring witches’ hats and dragons using non‑standard measures such as cubes or bears, helping them to further develop their understanding of number and measurement by seeing which item was longer or shorter.
