Oak Tree Class: Bugsy Malone
Date: 11th Jul 2025 @ 1:23pm
We’ve had a fantastic week in Oak Tree, packed with creativity, learning, and memorable experiences!
On Thursday, we had the wonderful opportunity to watch Bugsy Malone at the Lowther Pavilion. It was a brilliant chance to see the result of all our hard work come to life on stage. The children were amazed by the performance and were incredibly proud of themselves!
In Numeracy, we’ve been building our confidence with multiplication—focusing on the ten times table and using arrays to help us understand the concept. We’ve had great fun singing songs to help us learn the facts by heart and applying our knowledge to solve some tricky questions. Our progress has been amazing! ➗
Our costume design topic continued this week, as we designed outfits for characters from a book. The class was full of exciting ideas and thoughtful discussions about how costumes help bring stories to life - whether on stage, screen, or page.
In Vocational Education, we put our floristry skills to the test by creating beautiful bouquets! We used the decorative paper we made last week to wrap them up, ready to give as a gift to someone special at home. The children explored different ways to create art with flowers, including stamping, using napkins, and arranging real bouquets. Their creativity truly blossomed!
In Music we enjoyed exploring all the different instruments, using what we learnt in music sessions to work. We all sounded great, and even the staff gave it a go!
We hope you have a lovely weekend and can’t wait to hear all about what you got up to on Monday!
