🌳 Oak Tree Class Weekly Blog – Numeracy Fun! 🌳

Hello everyone!

What a lovely week we’ve had in Oak Tree Class! The children have been full of energy, curiosity, and smiles as we explored the wonderful world of numeracy.

This week, our focus was on counting, with lots of exciting activities around adding and subtracting. We began by sorting and classifying a variety of shapes, objects, colours, and numbers. The children did a fantastic job grouping objects by colour, and sorting numbers and items by size – identifying which were bigger or smaller, and even spotting odd and even numbers!

Some pupils have been concentrating on numbers 1 to 9, and we’ve added plenty of fun to our learning through step counting songs. One of the absolute favourites was “5 Little Aliens in a Flying Saucer” – it had everyone singing, counting, and laughing together!

It’s been wonderful to see the children so engaged and enthusiastic. Their confidence with numbers is growing every day, and we’re so proud of their progress.
