Seedlings Class: On the move: Big steps, little hands
Date: 20th Nov 2025 @ 3:54pm
This week in Seedlings, we've been busy strengthening both our fine and gross motor skills through play and exploration. The children have loved moving their bodies in different ways, balancing carefully on stepping stones, crawling through tunnels, bouncing on the trampoline, sliding, climbing and riding bikes.
Alongside this, we've focused on the smaller movements that help with everyday tasks. Using tweezers to pick up pom-poms encouraged careful finger control, while painting and stamping gave the children a chance to make marks and experiment with grip. Pouring oats into containers was another favourite, helping them to refine precision and concentration.
It's been wonderful to see how the children are developing both their big movements and their small, careful actions. Together, these skills lay the foundations for independence and future learning.
