Rowan Tree Class: A fantastic week!
Date: 27th Nov 2025 @ 3:56pm
We have been hard at work in Rowan Tree class this week. In literacy we have been focusing on our writing skills by trying hard to follow lines in our mark making sessions. Some of us have been exploring the story in more detail with our colourful semantics work.
In numeracy our topic has been fractions and we have been working really hard to learn about halves and quarters. It’s been exciting to cut up pretend pizza, cakes and fruit into various fractions.
Our topic this week has been music and we’ve really enjoyed playing lots of different instruments and learning to compose our own tunes by selecting which instruments will be played when.
In our phonics work we have been “walking through the jungle” where we listen to see what sounds we can hear. Once we’ve heard a sound we need to work out which animal is making the sound.
We’ve also started to rehearse for our nativity and filmed our advent calendar but these are top secret so shhhhh.
