Rowan Tree: Forest School Adventures
Date: 12th Dec 2025 @ 8:41am
This half term we have been visiting the Forest School at Weeton and wanted to share what we’ve been up to as it has quickly become the highlight of our week.
Over the weeks, the children have enjoyed a wide range of outdoor experiences: making music with different household items, rolling balls down ramps, and climbing through trees, and across barrels. They’ve loved watching the chickens, relaxing on the swings and hammocks and, of course, jumping in plenty of muddy puddles! In the polytunnel there have been activities such as threading and making Christmas decorations using pine cones.
All activities are completely child-led, allowing the children to move freely around the site and explore whatever interests them most. Many now have their favourite spot to head to first and it’s been wonderful to see their confidence grow each week. We finish each session by coming together for hot chocolate and a snack before heading back to school on a very muddy bus!
