Rowan Tree: Inspiration Week

Date: 12th Jun 2026 @ 2:49pm

This week, we have had a fantastic Inspiration Week linked to the creative curriculum theme for this half term “Our Watery World”!

Throughout the week, we have enjoyed exploring oceans and sea life through a range of exciting activities. In class, we have made colourful puffer fish balloons, created beautiful bubble oceans and used our fingers to paint bright and imaginative fish pictures.

Our literacy work this half term will be based on the story “Barry the Fish with Fingers”. To help stimulate our excitement, we even held a special party inspired by the book, which was great fun for everyone. Our puffer fish creations joined us for the celebration too!

Today, we joined the rest of the school for Inspiration Day and took part in a variety of watery activities. We enjoyed exploring different sensory stations linked to sea life, ponds and waterways. We also carried out a science experiment to investigate which objects would sink and which would float. To finish the day, we went to the hall for a relaxing watery dance session, where we moved like ocean creatures and had lots of fun dancing together.

It has been a wonderful week of learning, creativity and exploration and the children have thoroughly enjoyed immersing themselves in our Watery World theme.
