Rowan Tree: Keeping Cool!
Date: 25th Jun 2026 @ 2:47pm
It has been a very hot week in school, but the children have all coped admirably and we have come up with lots of ways to help keep everyone cool and comfortable.
From making sure everyone had plenty to drink throughout the day to enjoying lovely cooling treats of daily ice pops, we have all been finding ways to beat the heat. We even had an extra special treat when the ice cream van came to visit, and everyone enjoyed a delicious tub of ice cream!
In class, we reduced demands and temporarily paused some activities to help keep us all cool. For those of us who need movement, we made good use of fans during our activity sessions so that we could continue to move around comfortably. We have also enjoyed wearing our own clothes this week, which have been much cooler than our usual school uniform.
Whenever we have been outside, we have made sure to wear our hats and suncream and have only spent short periods in the sunshine. One of our favourite outdoor activities was water play. We had great fun running through the sprinklers and enjoying cooling showers on the warmest days!
We hope you all enjoy some safe sunshine over the weekend and that the temperatures return to more manageable levels next week.
