Seedlings Weekly Update: Exploring Through Play
It’s been a lovely week in Seedlings class, with all our children now in class. As routines are become more familiar, we’re seeing the children engage more deeply with their environment and with each other.
Shared Play and Movement
The seesaw has been a great way to encourage joint play. It’s helped the children connect through movement—learning to, take turns and respond to one another.
Sensory Exploration Indoors and Out
We’ve continued to offer a mix of indoor and outdoor experiences, giving children the freedom to choose how they want to explore. Whether it’s the feel of water, sand, or natural materials outside, or soft textures and sensory trays indoors, the children are showing real curiosity and enjoyment in discovering new sensations.
Messy Play: Fun with Food
This week’s messy play has been all about texture and touch. Our “Fun with Food” sessions gave children the chance to explore mushy peas and chocolate rice pudding! There was lots of squishing, patting, and smearing.
Attention Autism: Splatting and Smiles
The children have been engaging well with out attention autism sessions this week. They were very enthusiastic about the “5 Currant Buns” activity, involving splatting shaving foam. The children were very excited and showed good anticipation and focus.
