Achieving The Best We Can
In Everything We Do

Seedlings Weekly Blog

Date: 15th Apr 2026 @ 4:02pm

This week in Seedlings we have been focusing on the children’s physical development and fine motor skills, giving them lots of opportunities to move, explore and practise new actions with increasing confidence.

The children enjoyed painting with feathers, using light, sweeping movements to make marks and experiment with texture. They also worked on their throwing and catching skills, practising turn‑taking and coordination as they played with different types of balls. Outdoors and indoors, the children explored making lines and marks using sticks, developing their grip, control and early writing skills in a playful, hands‑on way.

We also introduced our new story of the week, The Ugly Duckling. The children have begun exploring the characters and themes through books, visuals and sensory experiences, helping them connect with the story in a way that feels meaningful and accessible.

It has been a purposeful and engaging week in Seedlings, with plenty of opportunities for movement, creativity and early literacy woven into our play.
