Seedlings: PSED Focus

This week in Seedlings, we focused on personal, social and emotional development, helping the children recognise and understand different feelings. We continued exploring The Ugly Duckling story, noticing how the character moved through sadness, loneliness, rejection and confusion before finding joy, belonging and confidence. The children connected beautifully with these emotions and began to show how feelings can change.

Through colour emotion bottles, colour mixing and emotion light play, the children explored how emotions can look and feel. Our angry, sad and happy trays gave them safe spaces to express themselves, whether through energetic movements, quiet reflection or joyful play. Throughout the week, the children communicated a wide range of emotions, showed growing awareness of how others feel and demonstrated lovely moments of empathy.

Seedlings continues to be a nurturing space where every feeling is understood and every child is supported.
