Sixth form learns about engineering!

This term within the engineering sessions, our students have been learning about all different types of bridges, they have done extremely well in remembering the four types of bridges names as they are now getting much better at recalling them from the photos on the powerpoint, they have learned of all the uses for bridges such as a footbridges which will usaully be for people who need to cross from one side to another where there is a drop in the middle, and all the other uses for bridges such as for vehicles, live stock, trains and even boats. Then once the powerpoint is finnished we split into two groups each week and take it in turns to use building materials to build our own bridges and then the students use toy cars to test the stabiliity of their bridge so that they could evaluate their bridge and make them better if needed. then the other group was busy designing their bridges with design templates and all different colours. well done everyone you are doing such a fantastic job with you learning.!!
