Seedlings: Splash, shake and create!
Date: 5th Feb 2026 @ 3:29pm
This week in Seedlings, we’ve been diving into a world of colour, sound, and movement as the children explored a wide range of creative materials. Paint, colouring pencils, sponges, textured tools, and musical instruments all became part of our sensory‑rich learning environment, giving the children plenty of opportunities to express themselves and discover what they enjoy.
We linked these creative experiences to our nursery rhymes and action songs, encouraging the children to tap instruments to the beat, make marks in time with the music, and join in with simple actions. The rhythm and repetition helped everyone stay engaged, anticipate what was coming next, and take part in a way that felt comfortable for them.
Throughout the week, we celebrated every response—whether it was a bold paint stroke, a gentle shake of a tambourine, or simply watching and listening before joining in. Each child was supported to explore at their own pace, building confidence through small successes and meaningful interactions.
It’s been a lovely week of sensory exploration in Seedlings, and we’ve really enjoyed seeing how creativity helps the children connect, communicate, and grow.
