Seedlings: Get Measuring - splish, splash, scoop!
Date: 23rd Jan 2026 @ 1:34pm
Seedlings have enjoyed a simple, hands‑on week exploring filling and emptying in lots of sensory ways. The children spent time with water, sand, balls and even our hatching eggs, getting the chance to pour, scoop and tip. These activities gave everyone plenty of space to repeat actions, explore cause and effect and enjoy the sensory feedback each material offered.
The watering cans were especially popular, with children watching closely as they filled up and emptied again. The ball bit encouraged lots of movement and playful experimenting, while the sand trays offered a calmer, more grounding experience for those who prefer it.
It’s been a lovely week of gentle exploration, with the children showing growing confidence as they engage with familiar routines and new materials.
