Pine Tree Class: The Human Body - a slimy and smelly adventure!

Hello everyone!

It's been another sunny and warm week where the students have been working extra hard. 

In Numeracy, we are finishing our data handling work and moving on to learning about number bonds. Some students are working on number bonds to 10 and some are going to 20 and beyond! 

In Literacy, we are reading a new poem about dinosaurs! They go stomp, stomp and do huge RAWRRR's! We are continuing to find the rhyming words within the poem and then find them from multiple choice. 

In Science, we have been learning all about the Human Body. The students have been learning all about the differences between each other; some of us wear glasses, some of us have brown hair or even blue eyes. Some of the students have been engaging in a sensory story. Part of the story explains 'An epic journey from your head to your toes. From your brain to your eye, your poo to your nose. Inside of your skull is a squidgy pink blob. Controlling your body is the brain's biggest job.' We had lots of different engaging items within the sensory story, such as a life size skeleton, a range of different herbs, a playdough poo and even a jelly brain! The students loved to explore the objects and it's been a great topic.
